Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007
The latest release of the industry’s leading server for email, calendaring and unified messaging. The ‘2007’ denotes the close alignment of this version with the Microsoft Office 2007 system of products, which deliver a best-in-class enterprise messaging and collaboration solution.
How do I sell it?
This new release represents a fantastic opportunity to upgrade your existing customers. Both Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2003 customers will see a significant advantage if they upgrade. From a sales perspective, the Exchange 2000 Server base is the ‘low-hanging fruit’ for upgrading for the following reasons:
- Mainstream support ended on January 10th 2006. Extended support continues until 2011
- Software Assurance has likely expired (or is non-existent), so the revenue upside is larger to move these accounts
- These customers are more likely to have fully depreciated their existing hardware or be close to the end of the manufacturer’s support
